TAKE THE FAMILY FISHING! GET OUT ON THE WATER!
We offer a small fleet of rental boats, trailers, canoes and gear for those who would like to get out on the water. Whether you want to salmon or trout fish, crab, shrimp or just cruise around we have got you covered.
Reservation Info
Reservations can be made by phone Monday thru Friday 8:30am-5pm. If you are unable to call during business hours to make a confirmed reservation you can make a Reservation request by email. Email requests will be responded to the following business day. Reservations are secured by a $200.00 non-refundable deposit which will be applied to your damage deposit at the time of rental. Cancellations are required 1 week in advance.
Lucky Rentals Ltd. reserves the right to cancel reservations and rentals without notice at any time.
Geographical Restrictions
Usage of the boats is restricted to Sooke - Port Renfrew and immediate area. The designated usage areas are detailed on the Lucky Rentals Float Plan.
Pleasure Craft Operator Card
Pleasure Craft Operator Card examinations are available at Lucky Rentals Ltd. The cost of the examination is $45.00 plus applicable taxes.
“All Things Boating” Introductory Boating Course
This course is offered by Silver Streak Boats Ltd. in partnership with Lucky Rentals Ltd. The course can cover basic boat operating techniques, boating safety & what to do in an emergency, launching, retrieving, trailering and mooring. The course is tailored to
Boats leave full of fuel...
...and must be returned full of fuel. Fuel is available on the water in the Sooke Basin at Sunny Shores Marina. Boats brought back without filling will be charged a per litre cost (approximately $1.40/litre) along with a $10.00 filling charge.

(If available at 5:30pm, the night prior to rental can be picked up then for the same charge – MUST BE ARRANGED PRIOR TO PICK-UP!)
Rental Rates
Due to negligence and inexperienced operation of our boats by renters in previous years, we have been forced to increase our rates and restrictions to make up for damages. Damages such as a snapped + duct taped back together VHF radio antenna, bent tongue jack on trailer, sunken boat because of not installing drain plug before launching, dragging motors on the ground and damaging skeg, prop damage, and countless snapped or tangled downrigger lines. All of which were not owned up to by the renters. Because of said damages, we are now limiting our boats to the Sooke area and renters are no longer aloud towing and launching themselves. The $50 launch/pick-up fee will be charged to all rentals, along with the $30 cleaning fee as well.
